We’re reviewing our estate services, which includes grounds maintenance, communal area cleaning, window cleaning and bin store management.

Our aim is to produce standards in partnership with residents for each service, so they know for certain what work will be carried out, when, and what standard they should expect.

To do this, we need to know what is important to residents – what we do well, and what needs improving. We want as many of our residents to get involved to make sure the standards are representative and inclusive of as many of their views as possible.

We're hosting 15 events across Kent and Medway, where residents can speak to West Kent staff and contractors about their concerns - or give their compliments. We've also offered an online survey, to allow those who can't make it to an in-person event to still have their say.

So far, we've heard from almost 150 residents about what is most important to them. Their feedback is already showing us a clear picture of what we need to do to improve the neighbourhoods where we work.

Julie Terry, Head of Housing Services said: "Residents were really clear in their TSM feedback that estate services needed improvement. We want residents to be proud of their home and where they live, so we're really keen on hearing all our residents' views and experiences to shape our standards and improve the communities we work in across Kent."

We're continuing to ask residents to share their thoughts with us, with 11 events still to go.

If you'd like to give feedback about the neighbourhood where you live or work, please do get in touch. Email residentinvolvement@wkha.org.uk to get in touch with the project team.

To celebrate 35 years of West Kent, we’re focussing on the fantastic support our community development team delivers across our neighbourhoods.

West Kent marks Transgender Awareness Week

This Transgender Awareness Week, we took a step toward in building inclusive communities by hosting a lunch and learn session. Led by Lio, a West Kent resident and member of the transgender community, the session was an eye-opening opportunity to explore the importance of trans-inclusion in our everyday lives.
