Here's what you need to know
Safety checks we complete:
- Gas safety check and certificate provided.
- Electrical installation tested; certificate given.
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms tested and replaced if needed.
- Plumbing checked for leaks; stopcock labelled.
- Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provided.
- Asbestos checked and report given.
Your responsibilities:
- Test smoke alarms weekly.
- Report leaks or hazards immediately.
- Know where your stopcock is for emergencies.
- Allow annual gas checks and five-year electrical checks.
- Keep your home clean and tidy for safety inspections.
Inside your home:
- Kitchen and bathroom fit for use; decoration vouchers if needed.
- Floors, skirting boards and stair handrails secure.
- No polystyrene ceiling or wall tiles.
- Adaptations must remain safe and working.
Outside your home:
- Roof, brickwork, drains and windows checked for safety.
- Locks changed; doors and windows secure.
- Garden cleared of rubbish; fencing made safe.
- Report leaks or blockages quickly.
- Ask permission before adding sheds or structures.
Cleaning and condition:
- Basic clean completed before you move in.
- You’ll receive photos of the home’s condition.
- Keep your home in similar condition when you leave.
Fire safety:
- Fire notices in communal areas - read them carefully.
