Over 100 new homes will be built by 2026 by the housing association at the Castor Park site in Allington.

West Kent has announced a new development at Allington in Maidstone, which is set to provide 106 new homes over the next three years. The project is set to begin in the coming weeks after approval by Tonbridge and Malling Council of reserved matters in a planning application.

The homes will be developed with our delivery partner, Penenden Heath Developments Ltd and will be focussed on providing affordable local housing.

Anabel Palmer, Executive Director of Development and Partnerships at West Kent said; “This is fantastic news. There are a range of energy efficient homes planned for Castor Park, including one to four-bedroom homes, alongside several adaptable homes for residents with additional needs. West Kent is also investing resources into the local community by providing two new play parks, restoring a World War II Pillbox, as well as contributions to the local schools, youth facilities and other community initiatives. The additional services planned for Castor Park will look to support residents beyond just their housing need. We look forward to sharing more on Castor Park in the coming months.”

Andy Shankster, Director at Penenden Heath Developments Ltd said; “We are excited to begin this partnership with West Kent and start on the Castor Park site in the coming weeks. The homes set to be built will be a huge benefit to the local community and our teams have years of experience providing excellent development services across Kent. We recognise that this project forms part of West Kent’s wider development plans for the years ahead and the homes set to be built at Castor Park form part of this wider vision.”

West Kent marks Transgender Awareness Week

This Transgender Awareness Week, we took a step toward in building inclusive communities by hosting a lunch and learn session. Led by Lio, a West Kent resident and member of the transgender community, the session was an eye-opening opportunity to explore the importance of trans-inclusion in our everyday lives.
