As part of our Help for You campaign, we have been working with Citizens Advice in North and West Kent to run face-to face sessions providing advice, support, and tips to help you with the cost of living. We have been using feedback from these sessions in 2023 to help improve the way we support you. To make sure that the same information from the sessions could be shared more widely, we have worked on five new videos that you can access online via YouTube.

The videos cover the following themes:

  • Debt advice
  • Energy bills
  • Financial support
  • Priority services registers
  • Recognising scams

Peggy-Sue Spurr, Head of Communities at West Kent said; ‘As part of our Help for You campaign, we want to make sure our residents receive the right support, advice, and information to help combat cost of living pressures. Our work with Citizens Advice in North and West Kent forms a key part of that and we hope helps people, particularly over this winter period. Our new communities offer, which we launched earlier this year provides a range of support for residents including support around fuel efficiency, furniture poverty and tenancy sustainment. We want our residents to live full and healthy lives, which is why this is such a priority for us going into 2024.’

West Kent marks Transgender Awareness Week

This Transgender Awareness Week, we took a step toward in building inclusive communities by hosting a lunch and learn session. Led by Lio, a West Kent resident and member of the transgender community, the session was an eye-opening opportunity to explore the importance of trans-inclusion in our everyday lives.
