We work closely with our residents to help shape improvements across our services.

Our resident involvement team regularly collaborate with our scrutiny panel on various topics to help drive changes to services.

Read some of their quotes below.

“I joined the scrutiny panel to gain an insight into accommodation procedures for residents who meet the criteria for supported accommodation, to make myself available for the purpose of relaying feedback about the accommodation where I live, to help make a positive difference to people’s daily lives where and when appropriate and lastly to get support with training whilst on the panel to further my continuing professional development.” - Nicholas, Resident Scrutiny Panel

A quote from Carolina in a blue and yellow box giving feedback on the West Kent scrutiny panel.

“I’m a West Kent resident and have been for the last 19 years. I think it’s about a dialogue between West Kent and the tenants.”

“Ultimately we’re all members of the team, residents and the staff.”

“It’s all to do with the tenants and how to improve communication between the tenants and West Kent. It’s like being part of a family, and I know I’m sounding soppy, but I do, I feel very included when speaking to West Kent.”

“I would love to meet other tenants and discuss problems, knowing that I may have the ability to help. That’s what it’s all about.” - Fen, Resident Scrutiny Panel

To celebrate 35 years of West Kent, we’re focussing on the fantastic support our community development team delivers across our neighbourhoods.

West Kent marks Transgender Awareness Week

This Transgender Awareness Week, we took a step toward in building inclusive communities by hosting a lunch and learn session. Led by Lio, a West Kent resident and member of the transgender community, the session was an eye-opening opportunity to explore the importance of trans-inclusion in our everyday lives.
