July 2024

We're aware some grounds maintenance work hasn't been done on time, or to our standards. We're sorry for this and understand it's disappointing for residents.

Our contract requires a certain number of grass cuts each year. However, frequent rain followed by sunshine has made the grass grow faster than expected.

The number of fly-tipping cases has also increased, and the same colleagues who do grounds maintenance work are also responsible for cleaning up this waste. This means they are spending more time on waste collection, and less on maintaining the grounds.

We're working with Sevenoaks District Council to find other ways to handle this so our contractor, Nurture can focus on grounds maintenance. Please report anyone you see fly-tipping on our land, as it takes time away from essential services. To help Nurture with this, you can use 'what three words' when reporting fly-tipping. More information on 'what three words' can be found here.

We're collaborating with Nurture on an improvement plan to resolve these issues, and reaching out to other providers for help with grounds maintenance and waste collection.

For now, we're prioritising grass cutting in areas where residents need green spaces the most, like sheltered accommodation and communal gardens. Nurture will cut and leave the grass for the next cutting cycle followed with a cut and collect for the cycle after. Communal gardens to sheltered accommodation that are inside the boundary of the block will still receive cut and collect as per normal. Hedge trimming will resume in October.

If you need any further information on this please contact us usual. We will listen and prioritise areas that are particularly overgrown.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
