After five months, our employment and training team held their first face to face job hub at The Plaza Suite behind The Stag.

The hub is open to anyone, not just West Kent tenants, to help people back into work or into better paid work or training.

The team supports clients to identify their strengths and transferable skills, write CVs and cover letters, and helps those that attend to work out their next steps, whether that’s helping to apply for jobs online or additional training to help them to get back into work, or find a better job.

The full list of what the team can help you with is on our employment and training page.

Dawn Grant, Employability and Enterprise Manager, said “The Plaza Suite is the perfect place to relaunch our Sevenoaks job hub. The hall is large enough to socially distance and it’s right in the centre of town”. She continued to say “We’ve been really busy supporting residents across Kent during lockdown, and it’s great to be able to see people face to face as you can build a better rapport with them”.

Additional measures have been put in place to keep everyone safe. All doors are open to reduce contact with door handles, hand sanitiser is available on entry, and masks are essential.

The Sevenoaks job hub is held at The Plaza Suite every Tuesday from 9.30am-12pm. To book an appointment email westkentworks@wkha.org.uk or call 01732 749420.

West Kent marks Transgender Awareness Week

This Transgender Awareness Week, we took a step toward in building inclusive communities by hosting a lunch and learn session. Led by Lio, a West Kent resident and member of the transgender community, the session was an eye-opening opportunity to explore the importance of trans-inclusion in our everyday lives.
