Following the Prime Minister's announcement about the lockdown, we have been reviewing our services and making plans.

The changes we already have in place mean we are confident we can safely continue to work and deliver most of our services. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.

Repairs

There will be no changes to our current repairs service and we will continue to carry out gas and safety checks. We are confident that our staff are working safely. Please have a look at our video that sets out what we are doing and what we ask of residents to keep everyone safe.

Rent payments

If your circumstances have changed and you are struggling to pay your rent please contact us, no one will lose their home because of Covid-19.

We have a specialist team that can support you if you need to claim Universal Credit and provide information on where to get financial help.

We can also offer support to help you find a job if you have lost yours – our training and employment pages have details of what we offer and how to contact us.

Moving house

We will continue to let our homes, we will try to do virtual sign ups whenever possible but can facilitate safe face to face viewings and sign ups if necessary. Mutual Exchanges will also still take place but may take a little longer as we may need to prioritise other work.

Over 55 schemes

The restaurants, gyms and hairdressers in our older persons’ schemes will close. The communal meeting rooms remain closed.

We'll be providing a delivery or takeaway service for our restaurants.

Abacus Furniture Projects

Our Abacus stores will need to close but customers are able to click and collect. We will post new items on our Facebook page.

West Kent Together

West Kent Together will continue. We can link residents to internal and external support services; whether it’s needing food or medication delivered, employment support, money advice, or just someone to talk to.

Office closure

Staff training - Tuesday 1 April

Our customer services team will not be available from 8am to 1pm tomorrow, 1 April 2025, due to staff training. Our out of hours provider will take any emergency calls during this time. If you have an emergency, please call 0800 169 1122 as usual.

 

West Kent progresses the development of the new Woodland Place community, set to provide 106 new homes

Woodland Place is the newly branded scheme in Allington, Maidstone, and sits on the land known as Castor Park. The new development is currently in construction and is set to provide over 100 new homes for with a mix of social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership tenures.
