During Social Value Week, we are recognising the social value contributions of some of our partners, including Brenwards, our electrical and building contractor.

Over the last year Brenwards has supported a wide range of social value projects to help us build stronger communities. Funded projects included a garden clearance project for vulnerable residents in Swanley, Christmas parties in our older people’s schemes and a pantomime trip for disadvantaged young people.

Brenwards will be supporting more community projects over the next year through a £30,000 cash injection to the West Kent Community Chest. Local organisations, residents and staff members can apply for funding for projects, which meet identified needs within our communities. We expect to support projects tackling isolation, developing skills, improving community safety or helping residents during the cost-of-living crisis.

Further information about the West Kent Community Chest and how to apply is on our website:

West Kent marks Transgender Awareness Week

This Transgender Awareness Week, we took a step toward in building inclusive communities by hosting a lunch and learn session. Led by Lio, a West Kent resident and member of the transgender community, the session was an eye-opening opportunity to explore the importance of trans-inclusion in our everyday lives.
