Today is Employability Day! The day highlights the fantastic work of those supporting people in their search for employment.

We have our very own employability team, made up of Dawn, Pauline and Russ. This year the team has:

    • Supported 142 individuals and 22 people into work.

    • Continued running weekly job hubs, where they support tenants with a range of things, including creating bespoke CVs, interview preparation, confidence building, business startup advice, careers advice.

    • Partnered up with Runway training, a local provider offering free accredited training courses to residents living in the Sevenoaks area. Following on from the success of last year’s ‘Mums into Business’ course, the team have now started the course in Edenbridge. The course was an initiative developed by the team to help mums set up and run their own business. The Swanley course saw several local mums complete the course, which led them to come up with a business idea, logo, and products to sell at Swanley Market. On their first outing the team generated over £200 of sales!

Hosted a successful recruitment Fair at the Sevenoaks job fair, with a range of employers attending – hospitality, care, transportation and beauty. Hear from our Head of Communities, Peggy about the day: West Kent recruitment fair 2023 - Peggy - YouTube
