    We're excited to be looking for three new people to bring onto our board

    West Kent celebrated its 30th birthday as an independent housing provider in 2019. We are proud of the organisation we have become over that period, of our G1/V1 regulatory rating and especially our strong reputation amongst residents, partners and other stakeholders. Today we have some 7,800 homes under management across Kent and Medway.

    Looking forward, we are challenging ourselves to do more. Our ambitious Strategic Plan ‘Beyond 2020’ developed with our new Chief Executive Tracy Allison will challenge us to increase our homes in management, further invest to support thriving communities, modernise our service offer and ready ourselves to reflect changing needs for an ageing society.

    The Covid-19 pandemic has brought significant challenges but the outstanding collective efforts put in by our teams and partners have ensured that as we approach 2021, we find ourselves in a strong position, with our services in good shape and making good progress against our strategic plan.

    It is against this background that we are excited to be bringing three new people onto the board. We are looking for:

    • a board member to Chair our Audit & Risk Committee;
    • a board member with IT/digital change expertise and;
    • a board member with a background in property development.

    We believe the values of our organisation are what makes us special and look for board members who will bring integrity, compassion, humour and other key qualities, as well as their professional experience to the board.

    We are determined to build a diverse board, reflective of the communities we serve, and comprising people who bring a broad mix of different skills and perspectives. We are keen to attract applicants from the broadest possible range of backgrounds and look forward to welcoming new colleagues who will enjoy the work we do and bring both support and constructive challenge to our discussions and decision making.
